Brennan is a beautiful bi-racial werewolf that lives with her mother and 5 sisters in a supernatural trailer-park. She meets Sani, a handsome Native American Skinwalker at a party, and doesn't realize how dangerous he is before they're already involved. When she meets Lamar, her cousin's boyfriend's cousin, she falls for him immediately and has to decide between the two boys, while helping to maintain her household, work different jobs, and plan for the future. Plot contains profanity, violence, and sexual situations.

So, Brennan and Lamar are the main love story of this novel. I liked Brennan because she's resourceful and lives in difficult circumstances. Lamar I didn't care too much for, but then he's rich and I usually dislike reading about rich people. For me, the real star of this novel was Sani. Handsome, damaged, abusive Sani.
Is it any surprise that I liked the most messed up character in the book? Yes, Sani does such bad stuff, and he should not be anybody's boyfriend, but for some reason I found his thought process really compelling. And then there were times my heart just broke for him. He tries. It's not good enough, but he does try.
I like this author's style. It's first person present tense, but it comes out as kind of a stream-of-consciousness style that I can get behind. She somehow manages to convey her story from one person's perspective without a lot of dialogue or traditional scene-setting. I don't know, it works for me.
I'm definitely interested in Sani getting his own book, because I really want to know if he can be redeemed in any believable way.

Wolf Girl finds necRomance MultiRacial Monsters Book 1 edition by Gisele Walko Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Interesting diverse teen fantasy with a paranormal spin. Very distinctive writing voice. Really enjoyed this one.
When I first started reading this book I couldn't keep up. I had no idea who was who or what was going on. It took some time to finally understand how everyone fit into the story. It was like reading 4 different diaries at once, going between them all. But once I was able to see how everyone connected it was a good read. I didn't really understand why it mattered so much that they were interracial. But the story was okay. And ended well. Worth a read.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved Brennan as a character. Sometimes I thought she was too grown for a 14 year old, but honestly I haven't been 14 for 16 years so I kept asking myself what do I know? lol. I didn't connect with her love interest. I thought he was too old for her but I didn't in a different situation I would have liked him. Overall I really enjoyed this paranormal YA novel. I haven't read a paranormal book in the YA category in a while and this was just enough to keep me interested and look out for more of the author's books! Plus I love the OKC setting!
«Wolf Girl finds a Nec-romance» is a fantastic author debut! But here is the thing, I don’t like teen stories/YA stuff… However, when I came across Gisele’s book, the title hooked me ^.^ - because, ya know… I like dark stuff and ‘Necromance’ sounded dark to me, as well as part of the blurb. So I gave it a try and…
What a wonderful surprise! What’s special about this book? For starters, the way it is written. Each chapter with the perspective of a character. This way we can see multiple perspectives about some of the events and it is totally cool to learn how each of them experience and see things.
The traits and personalities of the leads and support characters was really well-done. That’s one of my favourite aspects of the writing. I got really impressed by how lively Brendann, Sani and Lamar are. How each of them are completely tridimensional and have a true life story behind them.
The plot twists were also great, some of them you may expect, some may catch you as complete surprise. I went from laughing to sadness, since the story shows funny and cruelly sad reality of Brenndann and her family, specially.
This is a drama-comedy-romance, and if you are into knowing how someone young life’s is going to take a turn, for the worse and the better, you may want to read this book. (Also great for fans of supernatural fiction, this has a cool and light dose of it!)
PS Almost forgot to add the book also shows several social issues, like the author points out on her own review, and it was all well done. I got heartbroken by learning about the female lead' life, for example. I think it was very nice to raise some awareness for such things as kids raised in poverty, drug problems and the like.
Fun Supernatural teen romance. I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of fun elements of the supernatural. Shapeshifters, wolves, and vampires, and it dealt with social issues such as poverty, promiscuity, and controlling relationships. I will certainly download the other books in the series.
Loved this story. Love how clearly the characters come alive. Love the way they talk and that it involves love between kids from different races and socioeconomic backgrounds. Then there's the whole paranormal aspect. Just loved it all.
This book gets a 4 for Brennan alone. She's a multidimensional character with layers of depth and family issues. Her home situation is most certainly not the best and her mother is at the heart of it all. She's a good example that the apple does not always fall close to the tree. She's everything her mother is not, which makes her a great character. She definitely deserved a happily-ever-after with a man like Lamar. My only disappointment was the author's tendency to do more telling than showing. She creates great characters, writes strong dialogue, and does introspection quite well.
So, Brennan and Lamar are the main love story of this novel. I liked Brennan because she's resourceful and lives in difficult circumstances. Lamar I didn't care too much for, but then he's rich and I usually dislike reading about rich people.
