Photographer Legal Guide Carolyn E Wright Esq 9780979035302 Books Reviews
This book hits the highpoints to get you going. It covers a broad array of subjects to give you the basics. A must read for those starting out and a good quick reference for the experienced.
Every pro photographer needs this book.
Written clearly. Great to have as a learning tool for anyone into photography for fun or profit or both.
Just a great piece of work and very knowledgeable information... get. it!
I am not a professional photographer but I do sell my photos made into cards. I was recently approached by someone wanting to purchase two photos to use in a college textbook. I said YES but also want to know the legalities of it all. This explains copyright laws, etc. in layman's terms. It's perfect for someone like me.
While some would argue that this book does not cover "everything", this book is a great resource. It provides a starting point and answers many of the common questions regarding photography and the law. Coupled with Carolyn's blog [...] and the appendix in this book, a photographer is provided with a great, easy to understand source for legal information.
There are quite a few misconceptions regarding photography and the law with both photographers and non-photographers alike. This book is a great starting point for eliminating these misconceptions.
I'm a beginning photographer and I'm interested in displaying and selling (directly) my work. This book gave me all the information I needed in plain English and without too much fluff. I found the section on contracts particularly useful. It tells you what to look out for when negotiating or drafting a contract with your potential clients. There's a good section on copyright registration too, though the information regarding websites is a bit short. I'd recommend consulting other books specifically designed for Internet copyright law and e-commerce. There's several available on .
But overall I'd give this book five stars for its concise, useful presentation.
